Japan Dolphins Day 2018 - Frankfurt am Main
|Termindatum:||Samstag, 01. September 2018||Startzeit:||14:00h|
|Enddatum:||Samstag, 01. September 2018||Ende:||16:00h|
Brockhausbrunnen, Zeil 87, 60313 Frankfurt am Main
Taiji, Japan -
Every year from September through March
hundreds of dolphins are driven into the shallow waters of a small cove,
netted off from their ocean home and slaughtered within sight of their
females, and young, frantic and exhausted from the
chase, die slow painful deaths at the hands of their human captors. Some
of the dolphins are drowned during the struggle. Others are fatally
injured by boat propellers. The rest are pierced through the spine and
restrained as they bleed to death.
Those of exceptional beauty are
spared and sold to marine parks all over the world to perform for
thousands of screaming people, or forced to interact with them in
captive dolphin 'encounters'. This for
a dolphin is worse than death.
Money made from the captivity trade goes into funding the slaughters
and lining the pockets of the greedy, who practice their bloody trade in
the guise of holding up
“tradition”. For seven months out of every
year, the waters at Taiji are red with the blood of the innocent, and
the screams of the dolphins echo off the cliffs of the killing cove.
and killer whales (orca) are highly intelligent and empathetic
creatures, self-aware, and capable of complex emotion and thought. They
develop close family bonds similar to our own, and experience fear,
dread, pain, and panic at least as intensely as humans do. There are
documented cases of dolphins saving humans from shark attack and from
drowning. Their captivity and slaughter is nothing less than kidnapping
and murder. Forced breeding in captivity is common and no less cruel,
for these dolphins will never know the life they were rightfully born to
Japan's Prime Minister Abe has vowed that the dolphin
hunts will never end. We must never stop protesting and educating those
who do not know!
PROGRESS IS BEING MADE through the efforts of
activists all over the world and from within Japan itself, but we need
YOU! The murder, imprisonment, and exploitation of these majestic,
sentient beings must not continue. Please help spread the word to
everyone you know.
Never be silent, NEVER give up!
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
-Do not attend parks that keep dolphins and whales.
-Do not pay to swim with captive dolphins for pleasure or for so-called “therapy”.
-Watch the award-winning documentary, THE COVE, www.TheCoveMovie.com
Please help us keep the pressure on by contacting your local Japanese
embassy or consulate, and by calling or writing the Prime Minister's
office and Japanese Fisherman's Union in Taiji.
- Join us and become an activist!
